Joanna Stewart

I am a registered Social Worker and Family Service Worker with experience in non-profit and agency settings. I work with young to older adults, with individuals, couples, and groups.

I utilize a client-centred, anti-oppressive, strengths-based, holistic, culturally sensitive framework to counselling and incorporate a more narrative, eclectic approach to therapy. I work collaboratively with clients as I believe each person knows themselves best. I incorporate the Feedback Informed Treatment model to gage each clients' progress.

As someone of a visible minority and growing up middle-lower class, I understand the barrier of finding affordable counselling and representation. As a counsellor at the New Clinic, my goal is to provide a safe and non-judgemental space in which clients feel comfortable to talk freely. I believe in the power of self-awareness and utilizing our strengths.
